Our scouting year is packed with adventure—monthly campouts, skill-building activities, leadership opportunities, and plenty of fun. These experiences bring Scouts and families together, creating a supportive environment where youth learn, grow, and lead.
Who We Are
Troop 49 is a highly active, scout-led troop within Rainbow Council #702, chartered by VFW Post 9545 in New Lenox, IL. We proudly serve families from New Lenox, Manhattan, Mokena, Lockport, Joliet, and beyond. With campouts and activities planned at least once a month, there’s always something exciting on our calendar—check it out to see what’s next!
Community & Service
Service is at the heart of Scouting. You’ll find us marching in the Loyalty Day Parade, supporting the annual Scout Food Drive, assisting at Sharefest, and participating in many other projects that make a difference locally.
Leadership & Support
Our troop is scout-led, with guidance from dedicated adult leaders and parents who help Scouts make the most of their experience. We work together to foster teamwork and responsibility.
Fundraising & Resources
Troop 49 fundraisers—including the Popcorn Sale, Holiday Flags, and our Pancake Breakfast—help Scouts earn money for campouts, gear, and activities. Additional funds support troop equipment, badges, and registrations.
